Our Grit Sand, also commonly known as Sharp Sand, is a versatile coarse sand suitable for a wide range of building, landscaping and groundwork projects. Its gritty texture and larger, angular particles provide excellent stability and drainage, making it particularly useful where a strong, firm base is required.
Sharp Sand is widely used for laying paving slabs, patios and block paving, as well as for producing concrete and creating screeds. Unlike softer building sand, its coarse texture helps create a stronger mix and allows water to drain more effectively, making it a popular choice for both professional construction work and DIY landscaping projects.
It can also be mixed into heavy or clay-rich garden soils to help improve structure and drainage, or used as part of a prepared base for paths, paving and other hard landscaping.
Supplied in a convenient bulk bag, Grit Sand is ideal for larger projects where a substantial quantity of material is required.
